Princess Catherine’s wedding dress displayed in Buckingham Palace

The wedding dress in which “Kate” took the leap from Catherine Middleton to Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, will be displayed in Buckingham Palace from 23rd July to 3rd October.

The first ones to visit the exhibition today, are Queen Elizabeth and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Except from the legendary dress designed by Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, the wedding shoes and jewellery will also be displayed at the exhibition. Visitors will be able to see the 900-diamond Cartier tiara that the Queen lent the bride-to-be for her weddind day and admire the wedding dress -this last one, unprotected on a raised oval stage in the ornate palace ballroom.

And that’s not all yet. Replicas of the wedding bouquet and the wedding cake are also included in the exhibition which is expected to draw around 650,000 visitors.

The exhibition comes complete with a selection of Faberge jewellery, some of them still in use in the private apartments of Buckingham Palace.
