Take your front row seat at Belle Sauvage (video)

Belle is for beautiful and Sauvage is for wild. The question is, how can anything smashingly wild feel utterly beautiful?

Virginia Ferreira and Christian Neuman answered their part on the catwalk, by giving life to a seductively aggressive and primitively honest female who always knows, says and gets what she wants.

The show started with a model wearing a huge, neolithic-like, round hat that dominated the outfit. A series of long tube dresses or structured minis followed either in total blacks or in abstract mixes of metallic colors.

Celtic goth symbols such as crosses as well as reptile-like prints appeared in a number of the designers’ creations. Leather used as a material connoted the domination of the Belle Sauvage woman on every form of life.

Surprisingly enough, see-through fabric was used not in a romantic or clearly sexy way, but as a means of expressing the denudation from taboos and simulations. A gold mini dress had the audience wowed. Last but not least, the black open-toe shoe boots covered in sharp nails added to the overall “look but don’t touch” fatality of the concept heroine.

La Belle Sauvage we saw in this show is a modern woman who doesn’t hold back and never quits. Her grassroots instincts of survival and true pleasure sound primitive but are in fact the contemporary principles of living in a rat race society. As the extravagant veil covering her face revealed, she’s a methodical spider who will get whoever she wants caught in her web –and boast about it.
